In 2017, we had set out to break down silos and increase collaboration among our managers. Akin’s skillful facilitation of a 1-day leadership team development and performance workshop enabled open and frank conversations between and among the leadership team members and helped in our quest to break down those thoughts that encouraged silos and to increase collective ownership of decisions and mistrust. Before, during and after the workshop, Akin’s exercises and presentations served as sounding boards for leadership reflection, scenario building and ideas generation on actions to foster trust-building, communications, and leadership effectiveness.

When our Board of Directors needed to address corporate governance and leadership skill gaps, we decided to engage the services of a top-notch resource, to facilitate a series of leadership coaching sessions for our members. The engagement delivered immense benefits to the Board and the Executive management. We witnessed an immediate increase in the subsequent Board evaluation with above 80% increased rating on Board effectiveness. I enrolled in the i-impact coaching program led by Akin Oke. The coaching programme started with a GC Index assessment that was structured along four main leadership proclivities. My scores in these domains significantly helped me to clearly pinpoint areas where I needed to pay specific attention in my leadership journey. The coaching sessions were designed to help me achieve my objectives and derive maximum utility. With insights from the sessions, I laid out day-to-day actionable plans, taking the process beyond talk and unleashing real life results. I have also used insights from the engagement sessions to lead my team better towards growth for my organisation. The coaching program is one that I would strongly recommend. It would open your perspectives about your own leadership in ways beyond what you would have imagined. I've kept asking myself, 'why didn't I do this sooner'!
